I am a licensed psychologist with a private practice in Walnut Creek and I co-facilitate groups in Danville. I earned my Ph.D. from George Washington University and completed an internship and a post-doctoral fellowship in clinical child and adolescent psychology from Brown University. I offer the full DBT program: individual therapy, telephone coaching, and skills training groups for families with adolescents.
I believe therapy can shed light on new paths when people enter a time in their life or a situation where they may feel down, worried, overwhelmed, or without many options. Using behavioral interventions (DBT or CBT), I help adolescents and adults gain a sense of control by teaching them effective ways to communicate, regulate their emotions, and improve interpersonal relationships to bring about needed change. I work collaboratively with my clients and their families so they can improve their quality of life and thrive.
I treat a range of difficulties including depression, anxiety, trauma, behavioral difficulties, and social skills deficits. I treat suicidal individuals or those engaging in high-risk behaviors. I also provide parent training and consultation. I have specialized training to treat women coping with mental health complications during and after pregnancy. As a board member of the 2020 Mom Project, a non-profit organization, I am focused on improving maternal mental healthcare through education, advocacy and collaboration.
