Workshop Description

This is a 3-hour workshop is designed for psychologists providing services for individuals or families whose lives have been touched by autism. We will talk about gender and cultural issues as they relate to autism. We will explore other current issues and concerns, such as transition age youth, sexuality, and safety.

  1. Describe 4 common characteristics associated with ASD
  2. List 3 components of a thorough autism assessment as a way to evaluate assessments they are reviewing and/or performing.
  3. Identify 2 common co-occurring mental health conditions and an adjustment to treatment plans or interventions that will help-meet the needs of persons on the autism spectrum with those conditions.
