Biography
I have a B.S. degree from the University of Rochester in Nursing and worked as a Pediatric Nurse. I then went to Case Western Reserve University , School of Nursing and received a M.S.N. degree in Psychiatric Nursing. I had a variety of jobs working as a Psychiatric Nurse Specialist in:
A Community Mental Health Center in Cleveland,
As the Psychiatric Nurse Specialist /Head Nurse " on The Child Psychiatric Unit of the CWRU Psychiatric Hospital. I had a dual appointment as an adjunct faculty in the Case Western Reserve School of Nursing.
I received a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology in 1980, and was licensed as a Psychologist in January of 1982.
I have been in Private Practice In Walnut Creek, California since 1982. I use a variety of psychotherapy modalities which include: Psychodynamic , Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy( I'm a certified in CBT from David Burn's Feeling Good Institute ). I have also been trained in EMDR and use it in conjunction with on going psychotherapy.
Presently I work with young adults , adults and senior adults and couples. I feel very grateful that I have been in a career in which I have helped many of my patients learn to find ways to manage their mental health issues and lead fulfilling and satisfying lives.
The Insurances I accept are: Medicare if there is a secondary insurance, Aetna, Anthem Blue Cross, Blue Shield/Blue Cross , Beacon Health Options and Magellan.
